../ quintorigo play mingus
It’s much more than a jazz concert or a tribute: Quintorigo play Mingus is a show in which particular arrangements of the renowned Mingus’ repertoire are played together with significant readings from his autobiography and from his last wife Sue’s passionate biography.
A refined and essential scenography is made of lights, videos and few objects, and it mixes vintage, post-modern and technology. Videos are created from the bassist-composer’s documentaries and concerts: upon them an original background-accompaniment-counterpoint is placed and mixed by the band.
The result is an involving and poetic dialogue between Quintorigo and Mingus, jazz and contaminations, past and present.
Luisa plays her role sometimes as a vocalist-instrument and sometimes as an actress-storyteller.
